Yay.

I think we all need to take a bit of time in our lives, stop what we are doing, and be grateful for the very best thing in the entire world: spiders can't fly.

The Called Eagle

Recently, I finished my Eagle project and got the papers signed off! Basically, me and a bunch of other people (Hi, Grandma) created kits for children like me on the autism spectrum. Included were peek-a-boo bags (little bags filled with rice and assorted objects to find), fabric marble mazes, file folder games, and file folder planning sheets. There weren't as many people who helped as I thought there would be,  but I am grateful to all of the people who had a hand in helping with this rather large project. I love you all, and I will remember you when I get my Eagle scout award.

I Hate My Computer

My computer freezes up every time I try to get a blog post. It took me at least ten minutes to get onto this website already. I can't wait for my birthday to come, then I will get my best laptop that I need.

(Sorry, I just like posting memes.)

Unfinished Dreams

I recently saw a photo of a Justice League of America and Transformers crossover that never happened. I think it's sad how some ideas never come to light, and are replaced with stupid ones instead. Oh well. More ideas for the rest of us!

Monday, April 15, 2013

This weekend, me and Emily had the pleasure of having our Grandma come over and visit for a while. I really enjoyed having a couple of days where none of us had anything to do. I was a bit scared (we all were) when a big wind came and blew our grill off of our porch, but we were all fine in the end.

Trying

I think that I have been letting my artistic abilities dwindle a little bit. I'm going to try my hand at it again soon, and I might find a way to put it on this very blog. Wish me luck.

Don't look over this post. Read it.

At school, some people asked me about what I liked to do, and I replied that I liked reading. Instead of understanding, they just turned away from me, like I wasn't even there. So here is my message to those of you out there who constantly harass others for liking certain things:

Who cares?

People shouldn't say they are sorry for you when you say that you like something they don't. In fact, you should be the one feeling sorry for them. That sort of closed mindset doesn't make you any new friends or make anyone like you more. If anyone tells you to stop liking something that you really enjoy, don't listen to them. Just keep on doing whatever it is you love, even if others don't understand.

This is it.

The last trimester. The one that will test my strength the most (even though I have pretty easy classes). I might have trouble, but I can make it if I stay on top of things. I might need help, so thanks for being there.

Why...

...do dogs hate it when you blow in their faces, but when they are in the car, they stick their head out the window?
...can't you sneeze or cry underwater?
...do the Alphabet song, Baa Baa Black Sheep, and Twinkle Twinkle Little Star all have the same tune?
...did you just sing these songs to yourself in your mind?
...can't you set a laser printer to stun?
...can't 24% of people lick their elbow?
...did you just try to lick your elbow?
Because we're human that's why. Now go to sleep.

Career Fair

Today, I had the opportunity to attend a career fair at BYU-Idaho. It was sort of interesting to see what sort of internships were available to students, and to see what sort of jobs I could get in the future.

Um...

I guess I don't really have to blog tonight, but since it's technically a holiday and all, I sort of feel obligated to say something. Umm...
*beat*
*beat*
*overly long beat*
Stay in school.

I think it would be pretty cool if I got people to comment on my blog, other than family members. You guys are good, and I love you for that, but I still think it would be nice to be recognised on the Internet by someone other than my family, you know? So if you know anybody who might want to see my blog, please show it to them?

The 100th Special Limited Edition Milestone Post

Wow. One hundred posts. Have I really had one hundred things to say to you guys since September? That's just...
MIND BLOWN
Sorry. I just want to thank all of you for being there to support me, and for all of your comments. Without them, and without you, I don't think I would have made it this far. Thank you all!

My Funny Valentine

I have not always been the most excited about Valentine's Day. I sometimes get valentines, but I have a sneaking suspicion that they are sent from my mom. But this year, I want to stop expecting a valentine, and get a valentine for someone else. Yes, a girl or two that I like, but don't bother asking who they are because I'll never tell you! The end.

Fun Stuff

So, I've been thinking that maybe I post too many emotional blog posts. I don't want to sound like I need pity every time I come on here, so to liven it up, here are a few pieces of fan art that I love.

The Scared is Scared

Tonight we saw a video about a bear and a mouse who went to a swimming pool. I don't remember all of the story, but I remember the lesson that was taught. The bot in the video said that when he is afraid of monsters under his bed, he thinks about all of the things he likes, like cookies and pizza and milk. I think this is good advice for all of us to do when we are faced with fears or temptation. I don't really know how to end, so I'll just say good night!

The Ultra Bowl (or something like that)

Well, it's over. The Super Bowl has been won. It was tough; the Ravens had a hard time getting themselves together, but they finally won. When it was all over, I felt myself feeling sorry for the 49ers. Then again, sucker that I am, I feel sorry for any team that loses during the Super Bowl. Maybe it's just me. Hmm.

Got the Giggles

I heard a line today from Spider-Man that I could not stop giggling at:
*Spider-Man tosses a cone on Rhino's head*
Spider-Man: *Gasp* I got the thing on the thing! What do I win?
Rhino: YOU!!
Spider-Man: I win me?? That makes no sense!

Who am I?

Come on, admit it. You've often imagined yourself as a character from a movie or a cartoon. I do this all the time, and that's what gave me the question: who am I? Am I myself, or am I my characters? Am I my own person, or do I live my life through my characters?

Fast Mind, Slow Body

As humans, we are always seeking instant gratification. We are constantly making things faster. Our devices have to give us results in just a few seconds. We want our food, not in a few seconds, but NOW.
Tonight, we learned that sometimes, we need to slow down our processes and let things just come to us. Line upon line, precept upon precept. My mind works at about one-hundred thoughts per minute, so I need some time to just slow down sometimes.

Thursday, January 24, 2013

The way I see it, the media presents things to please three main parts of our brain: our sense of humor (for sitcoms and cartoons), our sadness for bad things that happen (a documentary of a family in the war), or our fears of what will happen (the news telling you why you should be terrified to go out of your house). These are probably good things to remember when making up a story with one or all of these element. A good story is, to me, either a Crowning Moment of Funny, a Tear Jerker, or good old-fashioned Nightmare Fuel. Food for thought.

Tipsy Tips

I have just recently learned that when I put my arm up for our cat, Tipsy, to grab, it is not a sign that she wants to play; instead, she feels threatened. Hearing this fact has increased my understanding for cats, and love for animals. I absolutely abhor any violence or cruelty to any animals, and I can't understand why anyone would eat cats or dogs when they have emotions just like us. Bacon before cat tails, bro.

S'no day like a snow day

I am so jealous! Based on the fact that Monday was a snow day, highschoolers only have a four day weekend, while everyone else gets five days off. Urrgh! Oh well, a four-day weekend is still a four-day weekend, I guess.

Lazy Daze

Ahh...there's nothing like getting out of school for the day and not having homework all day long. Me and Emily stayed home today and watched Aladdin and Airplane! I think days where you have absolutely no responsibilities are absolutely perfect!

The new church program that has been introduced to us is probably a good thing for everyone, because sometimes in seminary, our teacher will teach us some stuff, and we will just spout it back out like a broken fountain. This new curriculum will help us learn more by actually participating in lessons rather than learning it  one day and forgetting it the next.

Pictures in my Head

I have a mild case of autism, and while I won't go into too many details, one thing that separates me from other people is my memorization skills and my ability to picture things in my head. I don't want to seem like a bragger, but if I have seen a movie or TV show 2 or 3 times, I can repeat almost all of the dialogue. As for the images, I can picture something in my head and, if it doesn't have too much detail in it, I can make a rough copy of it, like costumes or cartoon characters. However, this is one of my problems. It's just a rough copy. I hope to someday reach the point where I can see something, look at it for a few minutes, and then put it down on paper.
Also, Happy Birthday, Grandpa!

Determination

When I set my mind to something, it's hard to snap me out of it. If I am in the middle of an art project, I hate being interrupted by work that I have to do, or people that I have to talk to. I think this could be considered a good trait or a fault. It might be good, because if I work hard, getting it done as soon as possible is good. On the other hand, working too hard and not having enough time for your relatives is very bad. So, once again, it's always good to have a balance between things.

Post Season Credits (or It's A Jolly Holiday)

The presents have all been unwrapped. The soda has (mostly) been drank. It's time to make the resolutions. My resolution this year: control my diet. I've been getting a bit of heartburn lately, and I think that I am in serious need of changes in eating habits. I resolve to eat my food more slowly, to not always ask for seconds, and to get more variety of all the food groups. I like to eat a lot of food (and I mean I really like to eat a lot of food), but I can gain the willpower to stay with it.

On another note, I will not ask as many questions in my blog, because I don't want to seem desperate for others to notice me. If nobody decides to comment on a post, that's fine with me. I'll just keep posting and going on with my life.
