Y U No Snow?!

Where's the snow? It's snowed a few times, but it's just been slight smatterings. It is never fully Christmas until you have a lot of snow on the ground (unless you live in a tropical place, in which you can't really have a full Christmas). I believe that I speak for the majority of the Madison High School student body when I say this: Bring On the Snow!

Creative Spiting

How do people get creativity? Lots of people in the world say that they don't have an ounce of creativity, but they are totally wrong... to a point. Sure, there are a lot of ideas that have been spread around, but there is still a lot of untapped potential. I find that the more I read, the more I find that no one will write the stories that I want to, so I guess I'll just have to make it!

Today, one of the girls at my school had an attempted suicide. She was immediately rushed to the hospital, and I am told that she is now doing okay. But I have been depressed today, mostly because I was hoping and praying for her in my heart that she would not only recover from her injury, but also that she would receive the help she needed to overcome her despair that led her to this attempt on her life. I hope that I am never placed into that situation, and if I am, I hope that my family will be there to help and support me. I am grateful to you all, and I hope you have a happy holiday season!

Nothing Important Here

I've decided that not much is going to happen besides the Christmas season, so I have made the decision to postpone my blogging until the season is over. I might make a few if something really important comes up, but otherwise, I'll be as silent as Fluttershy wearing headphones. PONIES!!!

A Mile in His Shoes

Before I go on with my thought, I just have to share something:
"Never judge a man until you have walked a mile in his shoes." That way, if he gets mad at you, he's a mile away, and he's barefooted!
But in all seriousness, this phrase has often been used when someone wants to judge a person badly, when they might be a good person. However, I have also noticed that, a rarely used version of it, is when you think a person is nice, and you try to be nice to them, but they turn out to be a jerk. I would be careful, because you never know when you might offend somebody.
I'm not saying this to be negative, but I just want you to know that you must get to know a person before you have any negative feelings about them.
On another note, I know the holiday season is pretty busy for a lot of the adult readers of my blog, so I am okay with you not responding to these posts, but I just need to express myself sometimes, and I feel that writing is a good way for me to do that.

All year Round

Giving thanks doesn't have to be done only on Thanksgiving.
Being kind shouldn't only be done on Christmas.
Resolutions aren't just for New Year's Day.
Making yourself a happier person isn't just for the holidays. It should be celebrated all day, and every day. Food for thought.

Chi Whiz

I know, it's a lame joke. But lately I've gotten to thinking that I worry too much about... well, pretty much everything. I worry about my grades, my social skills, my crushes (no comments about this, please!), my family relations...the list goes on and on. So starting today, for my family prayer, I am going to ask for more peace of mind and less stress in my life. However, I am also going work on this particular issue. I will try to get more sleep, eat healthier, and be more social, so that I can have less headaches (and heartburn).

Lazy Daze

I love lazy days. Days when you can be free from responsibility until your next school week. I am going to miss my dad while he is in New York, but I hope and pray that he will be safe and have fun!

The Most Annoying Sound in the World

What is it exactly? Many people complain about annoying sounds in their lives, but what would be the most annoying sound? Examples include:

  • Nails scratching on a board
  • People screaming at the top of their lungs
  • People swearing at the top of their lungs
  • An alarm clock that won't let you sleep until you turn it off
Any others?
NOTE: This list is not composed so that I can complain. I just want to get other people's opinion.

Where u go?

Hey guys, where'd you go? I haven't been getting any comments lately on my posts. I thought my parody song was particularly enjoyable, which is one of the main reasons that I posted it in the first place. Are you busy or something? Or am I not posting interesting enough stuff for you?

The Restroom Door Said Gentlemen

In this season, it stands to reason (heh, rhymes) that you would hear some parodies of popular Christmas songs, such as this one sung to the tune of God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen:

The restroom door said gentlemen, so I just walked inside,
I took 2 steps and realised I'd been taken for a ride.
I heard high voices, turned, and found the place was occupied,
By 2 nuns, 3 old ladies and a nurse! What could be worse
Than 2 nuns, 3 old ladies and a nurse?

The restroom door said gentlemen, it must have been a gag,
As soon as I walked in, I just ran into some old hag,
She sprayed me with a can of Mace and slapped me with her bag,
I could tell this just wouldn't be my day! What can I say?
It just wasn't turning out to be my day!

The restroom door said gentlemen, and I would like to find
The crummy little creep who had the nerve to switch the sign!
Cause' I've got 2 black eyes and one high heel up my behind!
Now I can't sit with comfort and joy! Boy, oh boy!
Now I'll never sit with comfort and joy!

Gets me every time!

The Happ, Happiest Time of them All!

Yay!!!!!!!!! It's The holiday season! It's official now, because our house is all decorated, and we got a tree! We have only to decorate it, and the season will be complete! And I really like using these exclamation thingies!

Ganksthiving

Whenever I go on vacation for an extended period of time, my mind becomes sluggish and hard to adapt to schoolwork. My words also get mixed together, so I could get ambidextrous mixed up with dyslexic for some reason. It's because my mind works five seconds faster than the rest of my body. Hmm...maybe that's why I am sometimes asked to think twice before doing something. I dunno.

Acting

Sometimes, while I am reading a fictional book, I will put myself in the main character's place, and sometimes I will read to myself quietly when I think than nobody is looking. I guess I just like acting a lot. Me and my brother together have seen practically every animated Disney movie made, and we can quote back to each other the lines word for word, putting ourselves into the character's place. We usually do this in each other's rooms so that the rest of our family cannot hear us. It doesn't work. I love acting, okay?

Dubstep

This is probably going to make a lot of people mad at me, but I'm going to say something. I do not like dubstep. I don't even know what it is, and I still don't like it. I have nothing against it, but the thing that bugs me the most about this popular brand of music is that it all sounds the same. There is practically no separation between one type of dubstep from any other!

Sorry, I can't hold a grudge against anything or anyone for very long. It's actually sometimes pretty good, I just needed to get that off my chest.

Hmm...

It seems like whenever I get my mind set on writing a blog post about favorites of mine, or some movie trivia, I get a lot of views. For example, my average view count is usually about three to six. However, back a few months ago, I posted some of my favorite whatevers, and I got 34 pageviews! In fact, the recent Movie Trivia post has gotten over 22 views as of today! I think I'm noticing a trend here. Keep looking back for more cool stuff!

/drool

I love anything that is associated with chocolate!

Chocolate is the food of the angels! Chocolate cake, chocolate ice cream, chocolate chip cookies, anything! I really hope that in heaven, there is some version of chocolate! Also, I can't seem to stop using exclamation marks! It helps me remember things!
*beat*
I LIKE CHOCOLATE!

Things to think about...

Here are some things you never knew about several types of things:

-The nursery rhyme "Humpty Dumpty" never once mentions that Humpty was an egg.
-For that matter, why were the king's horses trying to put him together again?
-The good witch, Glinda, says that only bad witches are ugly. This is after she asks Dorothy if she is a good or bad witch.
-Make the world's largest snowball. Contemplate how sweet your revenge will be when the snowball splatters your opponent. Then try to throw it. :D

haha

The Finals Countdown

Finals. This simple word has been enough to send chills down the spine of any student in any school. Just like me. I am especially nervous about my finals for Government, because my teacher will probably want me to list all of the Amendments in the Constitution or something. Any ideas on how to make things stay i your mind long enough to pass a test?

Favorites of Whatever

I love any type of fictional character that differs from all the rest. Funny, deadly serious, a mix between them, anything that makes them unique. Here are some of my favorites:

Mickey Mouse (Disney)
Darkwing Duck (Disney)
Sonic the Hedgehog (Sonic the Hedgehog)
Freakazoid (Freakazoid, a 90's superhero parody show)
Fone Bone (Bone, a long-running comic book about an anthropomorphic creature)
Spider-Man (Marvel)
Nightwing (DC, former Robin, partner of Batman)

I will probably update this list if I remember any more.

wat

Art is funny. Not funny like "Ha-ha" funny, but like "strange" funny. I think the main thing that is strange about art is that it has lost the ability to shock. To put it another way, what would have been shocking to a woman back in the 30's or 40's is now being accepted by her granddaughter. We have become desensitized toward things that are sinful, which is why I think the crime rates in America are rising. We just all want a bit of excitement.

Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny

Crossovers. We think about them a lot. We ask ourselves questions, like "What would happen if Doctor Who entered the Star Trek universe?", or "Who would win in a fight: Spider-Man, Sonic the Hedgehog, or the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles?" Someday, someone will create a crossover unlike any other, uniting the best of video game, cartoon, and comic book characters to see who will come out on top. And by "someone", I mean me. I am pretty sure that I know enough about each universe to effectively create a story that would do each series justice. If you think of any ideas for crossovers, please share them with me. I appreciate your input.

Mock Trial

In my government class, we have outlawed the use of Smarties to anyone in the classroom. Apparently, one of our fellow classmates has been accused of dealing Smarties to others. We are currently deciding whether he is guilty or not guilty. I am playing the part of the district attorney, and I am in charge of the objections and opening statement, so wish me luck!

Movie Trivia

A lot of famous movies all contain bits of trivia that a lot of people do not know about. Fortunately, there is one who can help you: me. Join me as we journey into the unknown side of movies.

Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl: Jack Sparrow. Tinker, tailor, sailor, pirate. We all know him as the main characters. However, DID YOU KNOW THAT Jack Sparrow was actually a minor character in the original script? Due to Johnny Depp's improvisation, the quirky Jack was brought into play, and a whole movie franchise was saved.
Star Wars IV: A New Hope: The stormtroopers in this movie are the worst A.I. I have ever seen. They cannot hit a single target and are simple minded enough to be susceptible to the Jedi mind wipe. But DID YOU KNOW THAT one of them is so stupid as to hit his head on one of the doors? It's in there, trust me. Look closely when a group is going through a door.
X-Men: If you haven't seen it, see it. Two teams of people who are scorned by the rest of the world. The script used was written by Brian Singer, also notable for Superman Returns. Again, DID YOU KNOW THAT the original script was written by Joss Whedon? Joss Whedon was the writer for The Avengers. Only two lines of his script have survived to make it in the movie:
"Whoa, wait, it's me."
"Prove it."
"You're a dork."
*beat*
"Okay."
-and-
"Do you what happens to a Toad when it's struck by lightning? The same thing that happens to everything else." (Toad promptly gets zapped off the building)
NOW YOU KNOW!

Some Assembling Required

My favorite movie of all time as of now: The Avengers!

Every moment in that movie was a Crowning Moment of Awesome or Funny. Thor smashing Hulk in the face with his hammer! Captain America being the only one to get the reference to the "flying monkeys"! Iron Man blaming a SHIELD agent for playing Galaga... and he continues to play it when no one is looking! Hawkeye taking down the aliens without any arrows! Black Widow hijacking an alien airship! Hulk using Loki as a ragdoll, and the comment: "Puny god." Kudos to Joss Whedon for creating such an awesome movie that will be talked about for years to come!

Obsession

I have a tendency to obsess about certain stuff that I like. If I ever think of a certain thing in my head, like a new Marvel costume idea, or a Nintendo/Hasbro crossover, I think about it a bit before I put it on paper. The only problem is that when I look at it later, I say to myself, "What was I thinking?", and quickly erase it. I guess I just don't have the commitment to stick to a particular subject. Oh well. Back to the Marvel vs. Dc debate...again.

Staked

Stake conference is come and gone, and I think that I am a better person because of it. I especially liked Sister Choi's talk about waiting for an answer in prayer. Sometimes, I feel like I am much too impatient with others. I feel like if they don't want to talk about what I want to talk about, I need to change the subject back to what I was on. I find it so hard to carry on a real conversation with anyone outside of my own family members, and even then, my conversations can seem a bit one-sided.

The More the Glee...

I love to laugh!
Okay, you may say all of the Mary Poppins jokes you can think of right...now.

Are you done? Good. Please continue.
Thank you. It is my firm belief that laughter is a great habit to have. The more you laugh in your daily lives, the better your future lives will be. Having a positive attitude all the time shows that you are a good person, and that you enjoy trying new things and being around new people. How was that?
That was... strangely profound.
Why can't you have a positive attitude ever?
I always have a positive attitude. I just never share it with you.
I've never seen you laugh at anything.
I sometimes chuckle knowingly at cat videos.
Don't we all.

Nightmare Night

I really loved the costumes of all of you today. I dressed up as a Muggle!
I'm a dragon!
Um, yeah. Thanks, Krikaan.
Anytime, dawg.
Anyway, I have decided that Halloween in my second favorite holiday, not because of all of the candy I get, but because this is the one time of year that I genuinely enjoy being scared. The slight amount of terror in my brain helps me to get in the right spirit of being a bit creepy.
As if being a teenager wasn't scary enough.
Excuse me? You've been alive for how long?
About fifteen thousand years, give or take a thousand; and I'm still young.
Still...wait. You're that old... and you're a teenager. A. Teenager.
Yup. So I totally know what I'm talking about when I talk about teen stuff.
Wow. Well, there you have it. Krikaan is the world's oldest teen. Now that's scary.
Hey!
It's true!

A-Mazed

If you have never been inside of a straw maze for about 45 minutes, getting colder by the minute, wearing only a jacket over your normal clothes, having to switch back on your tracks every minute... I suggest you try it. That was what me and Emily did tonight. I don't think I've ever been inside a straw maze before; only a few corn mazes when we still lived in Montana. I thoroughly enjoyed the whole thing, and we also saw a wallaby! In Idaho! At a straw maze! (Awesome!)

BLEARGH

Hey, guys. It's me Krikaan, again. Erik isn't feeling well today, so he has asked me to "transcribe" his thoughts... whatever that means. He threw up at school today, so he had to sit on a couch until his Mom came to pick him up. It was really cool; you could see his breakfast and lunch and all sorts of... okay, I'm getting a glare that says "Thank you for nothing, you useless reptile." Where did that come from!? Just because I make a funny comment that made him barf more doesn't mean...
...
Oh.
Um, I think that's all for tonight. My Condo Lances (whatever that means) to Erik. I wish him luck!

So Much Win!

Wow. I have currently got over fifty posts so far. That to me is a pretty big achievement. Go me!

Tonight, I saw a video that I haven't seen for years. It was a video of basketball players dressed in black and white shirts. The challenge is to see how many passes the players in white make. But the real challenge is... but I've already said too much. Just watch the video and see for yourself!

Also, any and all questions are accepted at any time. I always read all of my comments, even if I never respond to any of them.

P.S. The video is not a screamer. I swear.

You make the call!

Do you guys think that I post too many inspirational stuff on my blog? Sure, it's good and fun to say the good stuff, but the whole reason that I created this blog in the first place was to share my funny comments about certain events in my life. What do you think? Funny or happy blog?

P.S. Just saw the trailer for Iron Man 3. It was awesome.

Not to be Meme...

There are way too many memes out there on the internet! The word "meme" suggests repetition of certain interesting or funny things that have happened in the media and also in real life. If I were to name them all... actually, more are being added every day, so it would be impossible to count them all. Here are my favorites:

lolcats:
Halp

No explanation needed for these!

Engrish:

We must become energeticeating meet now.

Anything involving ponies:

Anything.

Tuesday, October 23, 2012

My head is full of the most random facts and trivia! If any of you know me well, you will know that I have a quote for almost any situation. The only problem is that usually, I have to explain the joke to someone else. By the time I do that, I feel really awkward. Is this normal, or is it just me? And what can I do instead?

Monday, October 22, 2012

Snarker

In movies, I love the type of line which is given in a totally deadpan voice and is still meant to be funny.

"Captain, the enemy has just fired its lasers at us, and we've been hit!"
"No crap, Sherlock."

For some reason, these lines just strike me as funny. Weird, right? My favorite deadpan snarker is Hiccup from How To Train Your Dragon.

"But you just gestured to all of me!"
"Thank you for summing that up."
"Thank you for nothing, you useless reptile."

It only works if you imagine it in a deadpan voice. Classic.

Redesigns

Sometimes, a character's costume or body armor or whatever just gets too old. Sure, it may be good for the decade, but after a while, it gets outdated. As I have stated before, I love to see people take a new spin on old classics. I do like the classics to some extent, but I also like things to be a bit fresh and new and exciting.

2 mny ntrnts!

There is way too much of the internet going on here. People are obsessed over it. They would rather talk to hundreds on Facebook than have one heartfelt conversation with a real person. A cell phone is now a person's best friend. Some guy would rather tell you about something that bugs him on a blog than say it out loud (tee hee). I agree that the internet is an awesome place, but sometimes, you should go outside, or read a     book or something.

Artsy

I am a HUGE fan of all types of art. Drawing, sculpture, architecture, digital, you name it. I marvel that anyone would have the patience to produce a piece of his own imagination that no one else may even like.
Personally, I do not have much patience, and I often find myself erasing projects that I have deemed too long and time consuming. I need some motivation behind my pastime, and I feel I am best motivated when I have a deadline. If I tell myself that I can do something by a certain time or date, I will almost always be able to do it.

Thursday, October 18, 2012

Homework

I think that I have discovered a very important truth to the universe: There is no such thing as "homework". It simply doesn't exist. Now, you can argue with me all you want, but the fact is that there are only two types of work: paperwork, and actual work. I admit to the fact that this work can be done at home, but it's still all just work, whether done at home, at school, at the office, etc.

Wednesday, October 17, 2012

Obscurity

I love that moment when you are watching a movie or tv show, like MST3K, and they do a certain "shout out" to another show, and then, nobody else knows what the reference is, so you have to explain it to them. And I love the moment when they are like "Oh! Now I get it!" I like when obscure references are made, like that one time where-
*Krikaan interrupts* KHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!
...
Yeah.
Like that.
(Star Trek Reference lol)

Tuesday, October 16, 2012

Which line is it, anyway?

Sometimes, I will quote a line from a movie that I do not know, and when I do, I feel like an idiot. Is this normal, or am I a special case?

Krikaan the Dragon

Did you guys see the post that was (supposedly) by me last night? That wasn't me. It was the manifestation of my "cool" self, Krikann the dragon. He's a bit brash, so you'll have to forgive him. He's invisible to everyone but me, so he doesn't really know how to react to humans. Anyways, like he said last night, ask him any questions you want to know, and he'll answer them. He goes on the internet a lot, and is very knowledgeable about various random stuff. He's...
I gotta go. I think he's raiding  the refrigerator. Mom, might want to keep an eye on the chicken patties and Lori's dinners!

NEW CHARACTER ALERT!

Hi, this is Krikaan the dragon. Normally, you would see Erik in this space. Well, I just snuck onto his computer while he was sleeping, and now I see all of his web history! WUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAAHHAHAHAAAAA! ALL THE PONIES ARE MINE!!!!!!!!...
Sorry, I get overexcited a LOT! Ask me any questions you like, and I'll answer them approximately whenever I feel like-
Uh-Oh! Gottagoseeyoulater!
(Erik Walks in)
What'd I miss?

MSTing

I am a HUGE fan of the cult classic science TV show, Mystery Science Theater 3000. I was sad to learn that the show has ended before my time. What I would like to do is to get some of the worst movie in modern times, write a script for me and a few friends (or just me and Jacob, we're pretty good at remembering stuff like that), record it, and play it whenever we wanted to. And we would be able to MST our way through a whole movie without anybody else telling us to be quiet. I think I would love that!

Wednesday, October 10, 2012

Co(s)mic

In the media, I have taken an interest on the characters who actually know that they are in a movie/comic/book/etc. This tv trope, or type of gag/item of originality, is called "medium awareness". Everybody keeps living their lives normally, but these special characters are aware that someone controls their lives. For example:
"None of this is real. There is a man. There is a computer. That man is currently sitting at his computer and writing what we are about to say next."
"Be quiet, Wade."

Tuesday, October 9, 2012

Sometimes, I wish I had a cell phone, just like Jacob's. And then I remind myself: who would I call?

Monday, October 8, 2012

The Bestial Side

I am a big animal lover, and I would never think of eating any animal (aside from those meant to be eaten: chicken, hamburger, bacon, etc.). My favorite animal? The noble wolf.

They are so cute!

A Chill in the Air

Ask any person in Rexburg, and you are 90% guaranteed to hear that they are not looking forward to the snow and wind and cold.

Not Me.

I love the cold months, especially when it starts to snow. Even when I see a bit of snow on the ground, an inch or so, I start to feel energetic and ready to do anything. Besides shovelling snow, of course.

Thursday, October 4, 2012

We, as humans, live for excitement. We always want to be entertained, and so, we get bored of the things we have, and try new things. It may take a few minutes to get bored of something, or it may take four years. Who knows what gives us our excitement? What excites you the most?

Sunday, September 30, 2012

Reaching Out

As humans, we are always reaching for something. Whether it is the cookie jar, or the stars, mankind always seems to reach out for what is just out of our reach. However, it is my belief that if we really could obtain so much knowledge by reaching, we would get bored very quickly, because without the persuit of happiness, how can be be truly happy?

Yellowstone Lessons

Today, when we visited the Old Faithful Geyser, I was reminded of the first time I visited. I was told that I might not see it erupt again, because a thin white layer was covering it every time it erupted. I was also thinking about the fact that eventually, the Big Dipper would change. It seems so sad that people in the year 30000 will have so many different landmarks than we do. (if this post seems random, i'm tired)

Friday, September 28, 2012

Maturity

Sometimes, I think that I am a bit too immature. I like comic books, ponies, etc. Then I remind myself that the world's defenition of mature and my standards are very different. I think that they are the ones who are immature. They just don't want to admit it.

Hero Mashups

Recently, I got a comment asking whether there have been any super hero mashups, like SuperIronBatman. Actually, people on the internet have created several mashups with all sorts of heroes. The internet people call this: "Amalgams". There are too many examples to count, but some of my favorite examples are:

Spider-Bat (Spider-Man and Batman)

Thunderbird (Hawkman and Thor)

Daredevil Lantern (Daredevil and Green Lantern)

Iron Bat (guess who?)

My Favorite Superhero

If I was told to give you my favorite superhero, you would expect me to say Spider-Man, Batman, the entire Justice League or the Avengers, but in actuality, my favorite hero is: The Black Panther!

He has gone up against the likes of Klaw, a being made of sound, the Man-Ape, a-er-man who wears an ape costume, and his wife, Storm, a weather goddess. If this person doesn't have his own series by now, I will be sad.

So...Awesome!

WWWWWWWWWWWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT!
Iron Mare! Captain Equestria! Pinkeye! FlutterWidow! The Incredible Spike! AppleThor! Twilight Fury!

How do I take images and save them as desktop backgrounds?

Thursday, September 20, 2012

At my school, most of the people say that I am one of the best artists in the school. However, yesterday, we started drawing scenes from the epic poem Beowulf and this one kid drew the demon, Grendel, way better than I did. I sometimes complain about my lack of artistic talent, and the usual advice I get is "keep trying". It's slow, but I think I'm getting better.

Fastest Furies

People sometimes ask me, "If you could have any one superpower, what would it be?"
My answer every time?
Super speed.

I'm not exactly a quickster, but then, I'm not a potato either. It would be so nice to be able to go way fast, and never be late to anything ever again.

Here are some of my favorites Whizzers:

Sonic the Hedgehog

Top Speed: reaching the speed of sound.

Road Runner:

Top Speed: enough to always outrun the coyote guy.

The Flash:

Top Speed: faster than the speed of light!

Rainbow Dash:

Top Speed: unknown limits!

What superpower would you most like to have?

Reflections

When I think back on 9/11, I realize that while I didn't see any actual footage, it was devastating. But it was also a time when everyone, regardless of race, age, or religion, came together and united. Today, we are still feeling the effects, and we are not united. But we can be.

P.S. Sorry I'm a bit late on this post. I've been going through a busy week.

Resistance is Futile

What I have to say now is going to earn me endless ridicule from anyone who does not understand. This is probably not a secret to anyone who has talked to me in the past few days, but I have a brand new obsession.

Being 17 and liking this makes me a "brony", as they call it. Make fun of me all you want, but take a gander at what this show has to offer.

The way you know this show is awesome? The pony in the bottom right is called Fluttershy. She tamed a dragon, becomes a barbarian, drove away a cockatrice... and she's the timid one.

Blahdom

(Like the title? It's what Lucy used to describe Charlie Brown. Aren't I just full of the cutest random trivia?)

All joking aside, these past few days, I seem to be in a deep blue funk. My depression has been so large since Saturday, that I haven't been able to shake it... until today. I realized that the thing that was bothering me was the amount of stress from school. Being a senior takes a lot more responsibility than any other grade I have experienced. I'm not depressed anymore, but still a little concerned for the future.

Crutch Words

Tonight, we learned about a whole bunch of words, called crutch words,  that are used in conversations to give people a bit more time to think. For example: Of course, actually, in introspect, etc. Some of these I can understand, but there is one word that really bugs me, when used improperly: LITERALLY!

I find it SO annoying when someone says, "I literally died laughing!" I am almost tempted to say, "Oh, really? If you literally died, you wouldn't be talking to me!" I know it sounds silly, but if it isn't literal, why on earth would you say it is?

What a Guy Wants

Sometimes, we get too greedy for our own good. We get just a little bit of luck, and something overtakes us. We can't control it if it gets too strong. Most people in the world wish that they could have more knowledge, but we have seen too many examples of absolute power corrupting absolutely. Maybe we're better off not knowing all there is to know. Maybe we just need to learn at the pace that was set for us by God.

On an unrelated topic: The main reason the aliens haven't contacted us?
We dress our dogs in costumes:

Poh-Tay-Toe, Poh-Tah-Toe

Today, we visited the Brigham City temple open house. It was absolutely beautiful! After, we visited our relatives, and had hot dogs and one of my favorite foods that I don't usually have: dutch oven potatoes! (with bacon and cheese)

Okay, okay, so this isn't exactly what they looked like, so sue me. It seems like a lot of the foods I like the most, I never have that often, like dutch oven potatoes or lasagna. But that's okay. I still like our various types of soup and casseroles.

No Title

I love the app called Spotify. It allows you to listen to any of your favorite songs that weren't on records. You can listen to popular songs, obscure songs, and cover versions, but just like any internet object, you have to be careful, because there are a lot of strange and explicit songs out there. My favorite artists are InsideOut Acapella, They Might Be Giants, Weird Al Yankovic, and the Muppets. What are some of your favorite artists?

Text(book)ing

So this trimester, I am in college statistics. I just got my textbook, and get this: it actually is readable! :O Spooky, huh? It doesn't read like a textbook, but as if you are actually carrying out a conversation with a normal person (well, normal for seniors, anyway). There is one bit in there that made me LOL: the first chapter is called Stats Starts Here. And the footnote says: "We could have called this first chapter Introduction, but we decided to call it otherwise, because nobody ever reads the introduction. We feel it is safe to say this here, because nobody reads footnotes, either." :>

Best Day Ever, or Not?

School has started. Yay? I like school and all, to get away from the summer boredom, but sometimes the stress gets a little too much. And this year, I start being a senior, which means that the homework is going to be endless. But I figure if I have a good attitude, it will go a lot easier.

Marvel Redesigns

I love superheroes, but sometimes, I find their costumes to be a bit outdated. Which is why I have decided I will try to redesign them.

For Example: From This...

To this...

Or this...

Or even something as awesome as:

(Apologies to whoever artwork this is)

Dragonus: Awesome

Okay, this is my third and FINAL dragon post. This is one you should all know:

Toothless! What else can I say about him? He's Awesome!

(Oh yeah, and there's a guy named Hiccup, too. Pay no attention to him.)

Awesome!

But he looks like someone. Hmm, I wonder who it could be..

Which leads to this awesome picture:

Hehe.

Favorites Time!

I want to tell you about one of my favorite video game characters! My other favorite is a certain blue hedgehog, but here is my most favorite (all 3 versions):
Spyro the Dragon!

He's been through a lot: regular old platforming games, teaming up with a new girlfriend called Cynder,

and teaming up with a whole bunch of other tiny guys sent to our world in the form of toys (don't ask). The way I see it, he has gotten a lot of flak, and he needs a major comeback.

By the way, do I seem obsessed with dragons? Good, because I am. Toodles!

Lockheed: The Dynamic Dragon

Cute, Ain't it? Lockheed is a member of the X-Men. He was discovered on a spaceship by Kitty Pryde. Since then, he has helped the X-Men on many occasions. Recently, he has joined Wolverine's group of X-Men as a teacher (Don't ask what subject). Cool photo Time!:

And, just for ramdomness sake:

Boredom. It gets to the best of us. Sometimes we can't think of anything to do, or think, or blog. That's why we have YouTube. To look at funny cats.

Back to Drool.

School is starting again. Yay. I'm not a bitter person, but I hate having to go back to school with other people pushing you aside in the hallway and not even looking back, or who cut in line at lunchtime inviting others to do so, too. I may sound pessimistic, but some people in the world are just like that. That means we have to try even harder to be nice to others.

Disneyinsania

Another thing that I am a big fan of is Disney. These people have created a whole world with a mouse. That got me thinking: what if Disney decided to create a Super Smash Bros.-like game? Genius! Here are the movies/cartoons/attractions/miscellania that I would like to see in there:

  • The Sorcerer's Apprentice
  • Steamboat Willie
  • Alice in Wonderland (New Version)
  • Kingdom Hearts
  • Beauty and the Beast
  • Aladdin
  • Pirates of the Caribbean (Movies)
  • The Nightmare Before Christmas
  • Wall-E
  • Phineas and Ferb
  • Monsters Inc.
  • Toy Story Trilogy
  • Hercules
  • Tron: Legacy
  • The Lion King
  • Epic Mickey
  • Bolt
  • Chicken Little
  • Cars
  • The Incredibles
  • Lilo and Stitch
  • Wreck-It Ralph
  • Mulan
  • Tarzan
  • Up
  • Vinylmation
  • Robin Hood
  • Darkwing Duck
  • Tangled
  • Brave
  • Sleeping Beauty
  • Animator's Desk
  • Split Second
  • Toontown
  • Walt Disney World
  • Haunted Mansion
  • Where's My Water?
And, just for the sake of 3rd-party characters:

  • Looney Tunes
  • Dreamworks Animation
This. Would. Be. Awesome.

P.S. Super Smash Bros. is a video game in which Nintendo characters (such as Mario, Kirby, Yoshi, etc.) fight to knock each other off the screen. As your damage increases, it is easier for you to get knocked off the stage by a strong blow.

Olympia

Well, the Olympics are about halfway through, and I have seen the good, the bad, and the downright stupid. Oh well, every 4 years is good enough for me!

Ladies and gentlemen, I humbly ask for you to share my blog with others. I wish to be liked, and to be recognized as your superior (just kidding, equal is good). But seriously, whoever reads this blog, please share it with your friends, so I can be friends with them, and have someone to "talk to", other than my sister. Sorry, Emily. =X

Anna Banana

This weekend, we went to Utah and visited my Mom's brother and his wife: Kent and Beth McLean. They are the parents of two beautiful children, Matthew and Anna, the latter of whom we witnessed being baptized today. If you are reading this, I will tell you that I am a Mormon, a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I am proud to be a Mormon, and I loved seeing my own cousin being baptized.

My Precious...

If any of you know me, you will know that I have a very intense love of superheroes. Ever since I saw the first Spider-Man movie 4 years ago, I have been in love with these characters who were always a caliber above us regular humans. Some of my favorite characters: Spider-Man, Blue Beetle, Batman, Magneto, Wolverine, Doctor Fate, Thor, Mystique, Superman, and Catwoman, to name a few. Send me some of your favorite heroes names (I won't say no to a few villains either) and I will respond!

P.S. If any of these names are obscure to you, or seem familiar, go onto Google and search for them on the Marvel and DC wikis.

Things to think about:

  • If it's called a laser printer, why can't you set it to stun?
  • Why is it that dogs hate it when they blow in your face, yet while you are driving, they stick their head out the window!?
  • Why can't you lick your own elbow?
  • Why did 76% of you just try to lick it after you read that last question?
  • If the black box survives a plane crash, why isn't the whole plane made out of the stuff?
  • If it's tourist season, why can't we shoot them?
Hmm.

Hi =)
