The Most Annoying Sound in the World

What is it exactly? Many people complain about annoying sounds in their lives, but what would be the most annoying sound? Examples include:

  • Nails scratching on a board
  • People screaming at the top of their lungs
  • People swearing at the top of their lungs
  • An alarm clock that won't let you sleep until you turn it off
Any others?
NOTE: This list is not composed so that I can complain. I just want to get other people's opinion.

    A guy in my class was was constantly clearing his throat and snuffing/snorting the other day and it was pretty annoying!
